Grow as an Artist

Learn a minimum of two pieces by guest choreographers. Guest artists range from emerging to established professionals. Company artists get to learn about and experience the creative process while working in a pre-professional environment.

Dancestreams tours to perform pieces in the company repertoire and new commissions each season. In 2024/25 Dancestreams performed in Qualicum Beach, Nanaimo, and Gabriola Island. Touring gives professional experience to for dancers to learn and adapt to new venues. Tour dates and length are dependent on the size and availability of company members.

Dancestreams organizes company field trips for dancers to see and take workshops from professional performances from international, national, and local companies.

For those who want career mentorship, Dancestreams educates young dancers about opportunities for professional post-secondary training and careers in the arts.

Dancestreams is not a dance school; and requires company artists to train at a home-studio a minimum of 4-5 hours per week.

As a company, we schedule performances around home-studio commitments including competitions, festivals, exams, auditions, recitals etc.

Opportunities to liaise with, and learn from, working professionals has been the catalyst for many Company Dancer alumni to carry on to professional careers.

Dancestreams company artists get the opportunity to:
